Splash of Grenadine

This fall, my favorite go to color (besides black, white and brown- my three favorites) is red.  Not sure what it is about the bright crimson color, but I just can't get enough.  It adds the perfect amount of boldness to any outfit, while making me feel confident and sexy.  Try it- you won't be disappointed!

Tell Me About It, Stud

Literally everywhere I look, I spy something studded. It baffles me how creative our society is-- iPhone cases, shorts, even my shirt.  As we know, trends blow up, and most fade fast. However, I don't foresee these bold  statement pieces going anywhere.

I found pairing my studded blouse with something classic, such as suede leggings an easy way to make the outfit more chic.  When going casual, I love pairing this top with jeans and converses or Frye Boots.

LBD Day to night

 

My favorite closet staple is my little black dress... and one that I can wear both day and night, well that immediately becomes an essential! I love having the ability to wear a dress to work, and after my workout at Bar Method Soho, throw on the same dress with different accessories.  Both looks are easy and effortless- which justifies my reckless decision to purchase this Proenza dress! Be bold... wear the same dress, two different ways.

Day example: Pair with neutral color pumps and a wide belt.

To Neutralize, of course.. 

For the Night: Switch belt to a skinny one (pictured here), add a vibrant colored clutch and of course, accessorize!!

For extra boldness, I suggest adding a color to make the outfit pop.

Instinctual Boldness

When I find myself in doubt of what to wear, I always trust my instinct, which lately that has led me to animal prints.  I find prints, especially this leopard top,  Bold.  Here, I paired the top with leather shorts, strappy heels, and bright red lips to give an extra pop and chicness to the outfit.   However, if needed to dress down, I recommend wearing dark jeans and booties.

And as always, don't forget your arm candy!! Play around with your accessories to find the perfect combination of bracelets. If you haven't noticed,  I find this trend amazing... and bold.

Confessions of a shoe-a-holic

I admit- Shoes are my favorite accessory.  Luckily, I have an excuse... I blame my height- I'm only five feet tall.  And the fact that  my shoe size, 5.5 or 6 (depending upon designer) always are available and look, oh so, perfect.  With the help of blogger/photographer Fashion by He, I was able to capture some of my favorite shoes in action..

White Out

Recently, I was asked my opinion on wearing white after labor day.  Well, heres my answer, if worn correctly, post summer white can look quite trendy and bold. White has made appearances in many holiday/winter collections, and when paired with dark colors, or heavier materials, white makes a statement. Don't be afraid to bring your white out during the colder seasons; I will be!

Favorite Five

Last week was full of new and exciting adventures.  For starters, I launched Bold and Reckless which has been quite a blast.  I've been able to stop and enjoy the beauty in everything- flowers, buildings, candy, shoes... things I've walked by a thousand times now seem so appealing.   After rummaging through all my photos this week, here are my favorite things/activites that made me happy.

Exploration and Hidden Finds

I woke up today feeling bold, so was beyond thrilled when my friends agreed to go explore way downtown New York with me.  After a 6 mile walk and countless pictures, I was ready to write about my wonderful day. Unfortunately, several of my favorite pictures were not saved (reckless, much??) -- luckily though, my lovely friends had duplicates for me to share! 

When strolling back to Soho, I discovered the most charming book store located on Prince Street. Best find of the day!! Left with "Gone Girl"-- can't wait!
